Mirror Northwest is the literary journal of Wenatchee Valley College which publishes the work of students and staff. It began in the spring of 1971 and enjoyed an annual publication until 1976 when it took a twenty-one-year nap. In 1997, Professor Jack Johnson reawakened it, and since then it has been appearing every spring about the time the camas starts blooming.

We plan to publish an online issue every spring. Every two years we will combine our most recent two online issues into a printed journal (Spring 2005, Spring 2007, and so on). In this manner, we plan to move forward annually online and biennially in print. Copies of the print journal can be obtained from the student editors, Professor Sheffield, the college bookstore, and local Wenatchee bookstores.

In addition, we have an independent section called "contemporary poetry," which is a sampling of professional contemporary poets and their work. This section will remain unchanged through the upcoming issues of Mirror Northwest. Its primary purpose is to provide models for the creative writing students of Wenatchee Valley College.

We thank you for your readership.
