Death of Tofu

Tofu was floating in a peculiar position in his fish tank. It was as if he were standing up. My sister, Tofu’s master, accidentally dumped him in the sink days before, and he’d been getting weird ever since.

“Bring the fish back; we’ll give you a new one,” the pet store told her, not knowing about the unfortunate accident.
“I don’t want a new fish; I want my fish. Can I do anything to help him?”
“Please hold.”

Tofu started seizing and was suddenly still, now floating upside-down.

“Miss?”
“My fish died,” she said.
“I’m sorry,” the pet store responded, relieved to be rid of her. “But we can’t take him back now, if he’s dead.”
